Brno and many of its monuments have the Christian faith as a common denominator. Therefore, for the eighth time, the Moravian metropolis is organising the successful project entitled "Brno and Its Cathedrals". This year, five cathedrals are opening their doors, namely the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul, the St. James's Church, the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the St. Michael's Church and the Church of St. Johns.
From 12 June to 17 September, people can visit them for free and guides will give them a tour in the Czech language and, in case of interest, in a foreign language.
The project is very popular within religious tourism, thanks to which people from all over Europe come to Brno. Visits to the open cathedrals are, however, also intended for the residents of the city because churches and cathedrals are an integral part of the history of Brno.
