Young Artists’ Gallery

The premises for the presentation of the work of young artists were established in 1967. It is currently the oldest exhibition gallery operated by BKC. It is focused on the work of the youngest artistic generation, especially art students and fresh graduates. The only criterion is the author’s age, which must be below 35.

The gallery’s dramaturgy showcases unique personalities and progressive tendencies among the young generation. At the same time, it strives to maintain pluralistic interpretations of art works with a broad scale of media and expressions. Aside from exhibitions of single authors or cooperating authors (two or more), the gallery also offers collective exhibitions.

Each year approximately ten exhibitions are organized by the Young Artists’ Gallery. Its annual schedule of events is prepared by the Gallery Council appointed by the director of TIC Brno. Its members include curators of the institution as well as respected experts in art theory and curators. The annual plan includes projects recommended by the respective curators and projects submitted upon the basis of the public annual call to offer projects. The gallery’s dramaturgy showcases unique personalities and progressive tendencies among the young generation. At the same time, it strives to maintain pluralistic interpretations of art works with a broad scale of media and expressions.
